About touring artists/IAIB
With its project International Artists Information Berlin, touring artists welcomes artists, creatives and culture professionals who were forced to leave their home countries due to the political situation and are now residing in Germany. We provide orientation about the German cultural landscape and the Berlin culture scene in particular. We explain the legal framework for artistic practice in Germany as well as the necessary prerequisites to work here as an artist or creative – especially for artists from countries outside of the EU. We guide you through administration in Germany and help to find the competent contact. All of that to facilitate the continuation of the artistic or creative work in Germany.
touring artists/IAIB provides customized online information. The information pool is under development. At the moment one will find explanations on the status of artists and creatives in Germany as well as on the issues residence status and access to the labour market. Employers and customers get advice on collaboration with refugee artists and requirements for employment, bookings and the awarding of contracts. A collection of resources and of helpdesk services in Berlin provides detailed assistance. The range of information will be extended in the course of the year 2019.
The touring artists/IAIB helpdesk service offers individual consultations on international projects as well as on questions on how to achieve a future career in Germany. Culture professionals can also obtain information on the Berlin job market in particular. Moreover, the helpdesk service addresses cultural institutions in Berlin that are collaborating with arriving artists. The service is free of charge.
For touring artists the provision of accurate crucial. Thus we are cooperating with experts in the different areas and administrative contacts.
